Åsgårdstrand July 5th - July 10th 2009
Åsgårdstrand Sailing Club and the Norwegian X-99 Class Association are looking forward to host the ISAF X-99 World Championships 2009 in Åsgårdstrand, one of the most picturesque small towns in the outer parts of the Oslo fjord.
Åsgårdstrand has a population of around 5000, and is situated on the western coast of the Oslo fjord, approximately 100 km south of Oslo, between the two somewhat larger towns of Horten and Tønsberg. Åsgårdstrand is the home of the famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (the painter of "Scream").
Åsgårdstrand Sailing Club is located in the middle of Åsgårdstrand, and have hosted a lot of national and international championships in the last years. The club house has direct access to the waterfront and harbour, and the race courses are situated just outside the harbour, with a minimum of transport time and a unique position for spectators onshore. It will be the place-to-be during the week! Skipper briefings, race office and after sail arrangements will be located here.
A big Welcome to sailors, spouses and all others who want to attend this sailing championship. We will do our best to satisfy your needs and to make this championship week a memorable experience.
